a sad comment on the world we live in — indeed.

I think it is human nature. At least we do not burn each other at the stake any more (we don't right?)

So he'll sue the police department, and get a little richer, and the city will get a little poorer, and after the next budget meeting the police will become a bit more careful... society doesn't work perfectly, or quickly, but it does work.
