HDR ("high dynamic range") photos or a simpler technique like contrast blending can be automated. Therefore it could be put in a digital photo camera to produce an effect which is much more interesting than just b&w or similar effects that are often available even in inexpensive cameras.

Any camera manufacturer thinking about this?
