Again — where are well argued voices for ballistic fingerprinting?

Hard to find, because I suspect the real reason behind b.f. is to gradually price the firearms out of the acceptable range. Sorta like taxing cigarettes... Plus, probably, lotsa pork for the contractors.

Plausible. Still, there are many people around who are actively marching for the fingerprinting; where are the arguments?
