Fresh rumors

Removed from circulation: http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp

The closer we are to the elections, the less is spoken about politics, the so much better.

А ещё она прогуливала заседания горсовета и тайком бегала в церкву, предъявляя потом к оплате трамвайные билеты.

С ума сойти.

Strange conclusion.

I'd say - the more is exposed of indecent attempts of smears by politicized lefty media, the better.

Glastnost, comrades!

It's not a conclusion. It's life experience. My bullshit meter is going off the scale as the election time is approaching. One sign is that even normally smart and reserved people start getting passions (and sillies). The last-minute decisions are rarely wise.

[identity profile] eta-ta.livejournal.com 2008-09-12 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure what you mean by "getting sillies".
I don't see how exposing the lies (I wouldn't call it "rumors") that the Left is desperately fabricating could be interpreted as a bad thing.
Thank god for blogs - if I was only reading the biased media my perceptions about Gov. Palin were definitely skewed.

Nothing wrong with changing one's electoral decision, either - in lieu of a fresh evidence. And we have plenty of it in the last week or two, starting with investigation into who, exactly, was behind Obama's candidature (ACORN) to how the Proposals were put into his executive portfolio (and whose real authors'names were removed - at the last minute), etc etc.

Exposing the lies is one thing, but ignoring them is another. I am all for the truth, but keep in mind that emotions are important too.

[identity profile] eta-ta.livejournal.com 2008-09-12 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
again, I'm not sure I understand what you mean: "ignoring" what lies?
Can you be more specific?

[identity profile] cema.livejournal.com 2008-09-12 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ignoring everything until after the elections! :-) Being more specific would go against the gist of my post, see.

[identity profile] eta-ta.livejournal.com 2008-09-12 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
well, unlike you, we Americans can not afford to ignore everything until after the elections.

It's a good thing I am not yet a citizen then!

with truth like this, who needs lies

This is obviously fake to anyone who can read. She did try to fire the librarian, though, for "not having the librarian's full support", so the questions were not hypothetical or rhetorical.

Care to comment on the "war with Russia" thing?

I mostly agree with your point.

As far as commenting, I sure can comment, but I will take a rain check until after the elections, ok? ;-)

you can have a rain check until after the war

[identity profile] cema.livejournal.com 2008-09-13 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
The war is over, but there are several more wars ongoing, and more coming.

national sport

[identity profile] iamschik.livejournal.com 2008-09-27 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think, elections fit into definition of American national sport. I would not expect to have a reasonable conversation with baseball fans at a stadium, would you?:)

Makes sense.
