Замечательно. Надо бы подправить английский кое-где (типа артикли, yelled вместо cried и т.п.), а потом можно и публиковать in a non-refereed journal.

Посмеялся бы. Но только что обнаружил, что в одном старом файле (в работающей, ужасно старой программе) на сегодня имеется 65525 записей. А ссылки - по номеру записи - двухбайтные. 25 тысяч строк старого программного кода. Ни избавляться от программы, ни переделывать её во что-нибудь новейшее - нет никакого желания. А выкручиваться как-нибудь придётся!

Если интерфейс с файлом локализован в коде (ну, не в объекте, раз программа старая, но в наборе функций и структур данных), то работы не так много. Если же нет, то увы.

Нет, конечно! Какой объект, побойтесь Илуватара! Я, когда её начинал (ещё на БЭСМ-6), и словей-то таких не знал! (Нет, последняя версия написана на Клиппере для ПК, но структура и функции - всё равно жутко старые.) Я ж мастодонт в программировании. Давно вымирать пора. Но не хочется.

На БЭСМ-6 у меня опыта работы нет, а мой друг в своё время работал в ИТМиВТ (ещё будучи школьником). Теперь он поддерживает эмулятор БЭСМ-6 для писи (мы все знаем, где тут ставится ударение).
