army agreed to do that - they didn't have achoice. They had to follow the protocol. And they knew the guy was going to raise hell if they didn't.

But they probably suspected that the guy knew how it was supposed to be done. Like that if something happenned because they missed an intruder, they'll be responsible. Besides, it was more pleasant than fishing dead bodies out of the water.
