They marked me as a SUP user. I did not ask for it.

I consider this a serious breach of trust.

Any suggestions as to what to do to them?

You will still have the choice to use SUP's services or not; the opt-out will still be available, and you will be able to make this choice when SUP begins to offer their services. The "SUP User" option does not describe which users have opted in (or opted out). This option is set for every user who is eligible to use SUP's services, whether or not they have opted in.

You will not be forced to use the SUP front-end unless you wish to do so. This information will be stored in a separate location, not in the "SUP User" capability. The "SUP User" capability is enabled for all users who are eligible to use the SUP front-end, even if they have not chosen to use it.

Well, I am not surprised about the technical decisions. I am surprised and very disappointed about the level of customer support, or more like non-support.

I don't care about SUP front-end, I care about SUP back-end, database, servers located outside of US jurisdiction.
Availability of opt-out/opt-in button that controls front-end for my lj means the back-end is under Mammut.

Yes, this may be an issue.
