USB 2.0 help requested

I have a USB 2.0 card reader (it's called "mini-reader" from Digital Concepts, model cr-35r and reads rsmmc, sd, and mmc cards). My laptop has three USB 2.0 ports. All three see it as a slower USB device (or perhaps it sees them as slower USB devices, I am not sure how it is done).

What can I do, short of buying another computer, to get the USB 2.0 speed out of this combination?

А лэптоп хоть что-нибудь быстро делает по USB? А то, может, в нем драйвера USB недостаточно специализированные стоят. У меня был случай.
