Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.
This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realised LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one. Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture.
We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.

On the 28th of March LiveLeak.com was left with no other choice but to remove the film "fitna" from our servers following serious threats to our staff and their families. Since that time we have worked constantly on upgrading all security measures thus offering better protection for our staff and families. With these measures in place we have decided to once more make this video live on our site. We will not be pressured into censoring material which is legal and within our rules. We apologise for the removal and the delay in getting it back, but when you run a website you don't consider that some people would be insecure enough to threaten our lives simply because they do not like the content of a video we neither produced nor endorsed but merely hosted.

Разница в том, что в Израиле все же по боьшей части 21-й век, а в Афганистане к нему еще и близко не подошли. Почему же мы ожидаем, что они будут уважать нашу свободу слова? У них это понятие еще не родилось.

(Они, на самом деле, не уважают не просто нашу свободу слова, но и нас самих. Это, впрочем, отдельная большая тема.)
Что касается цитаты раввина, то, во-первых, мало кто из "своих" с ней согласен, а во-вторых, он пока что слова говорил, а не убивал. Ближе к делу была бы история про семью выкрестов, живущих в Ариеле, которым в Пурим подбросили бомбу. Опять-таки, мало кто с этим согласен, и отовсюду слышны в основном осуждения; но бомба на самом деле взорвалась, парнишка покалечен. Посмотри, это буквально на днях было.

Так вот надо научить их её уважать. - а западный мир не надо научить уважать другие религии? Ну нельзя у них изображать пророка Магомета. Чем, кроме как неуважением, объяснить то, что это еще раз было проделано?
Что касается цитаты раввина, то, во-первых, мало кто из "своих" с ней согласен, а во-вторых, он пока что слова говорил, а не убивал. - не поняла, в чем разница: во-первых, мало кто из "своих" согласен с Вайлдерсом, или как его там по-русски транскрипируют. Я надеюсь, во всяком случае, что мало кто согласен. Фильм звучит ужасно тенденциозно, параноидально, безо всякой попытки разделить современные радикальные течения и ислам. Ну и никого из авторов или там работников этого веб-хостинга пока тоже не убили. Пригрозили только. В чем принципиальная разница? Я и непринципиальной особо не вижу.

Причём в ответ на неуважение возникает тоже неуважение, и разделить их без знания предыстории бывает нелегко - зато сделать тенденциозную подборку всего ужасного в другой стороне очень легко. С обеих, причем, сторон. Воистну, Fitna.
человек, имеющий критическое отношение к чему-либо затрагивающее мусульман, боится его высказывать - это отдельная тема. Здесь не критическое отношение к чему-либо, а поливание помоями всех мусульман без разбора. И он-то, к сожалению, не боится. У него достаточно денег, чтобы до него не добрались. Доберутся до более доступных людей.
Да, грустно, конечно, что этот клип пришлось убрать. Но еще грустнее, что человек его сделал, прекрасно понимая, какую реакцию он провоцирует и к каким последствиям это приведет.
