Helps to figure out what is going on. Although it could be clear that the Russian guys are simply boasting, like they have always been doing. Komsomol style.

BTW, I am going to the slet tomorrow. Are you?

on the contrary; altruistic love for one's profession.

OK, I see it's love, but it's still egoistic.

How you figure egoism comes into visiting an annual industry fair?
Nobody pays me for my time and attention, there are no immediate uses of the information I had absorbed, my office duties do not include going out to the booths and making notes.

It's an unpaid work. The only direct result of this exercise is blisters on my sneakered feet.

Of course, tonight I'm invited to about 4 ICFF parties (for starters), but that's a minimum they can do to compensate me. And the interiors where I'll consume my vodka martinis will be much nicer than the close vicinity to "Volik' site". Besides the quality of attending crowd.

When you love your profession, the love is egoistic. I am in the same position: for example, recently took several days off work to go to a lisp conference.

As far as the crowd next to Volik site, if you don't like it, go to another site. There are quite a number of them. And the music style varies too.

Well, from that point every love is egoistic. You love your KSP crowd - you took time off your other activities to attend the bonfires. You sat on wet logs and indulged in collective mental masturbation. You chased your charred meat with vodka and heroically fought resulting indigestion, all in the name of love.

if you don't like it, go to another site

I did better - I stayed out of it altogether.

In a way, every love is egoistic except the love of a mother to the child, which of course becomes egoistic in a human being but is fundamentally different in terms of biology.

You sat on wet logs

I sat on a seater. It insulates!

indulged in collective mental masturbation

Which is a good respite from the kind of c.m.m. we are engaged in in LJ, eh?

if you don't like it, go to another site

I did better - I stayed out of it altogether.

That's yet another site.

LJ and KSP working in cross-modes: you sing along in choir or reverentially applaud others @KSP, but get to express your own p-o-v here. At least, if you haven't noticed already, is my mode of operation.

That's yet another site. yes, but not a KSP site. makes ton of difference.

not a KSP site

Ksp too!

it's your blog - your last word.
But that's the only reason.

The only reason for what?
