Amnesty has recently fired a woman who protested against a jihadist (formerly a Guantanamo inmate) traveling on the Amnesty lecture circuit.

It could be argued that an interest in Nazi memorabilia by someone who works for a human rights organization is not nostalgic for Nazism but likes to be constantly reminded of the worst possible unchecked atrocities against humanity. He did say that the SS leather jacket made his blood go cold.

One individual's ambiguous actions don't endict an entire organization. And human rights (and civil liberties) organizations are bound to piss everyone off at one time or another.

Yes, just the interest in memorabilia should not be a problem. There are deeper problems there.

“That is so cool! The leather SS jacket makes my blood go cold it is so COOL!”

Oh, and before all this you actually did consider HRW to be a trustworthy organization?

That's a nice one!

Just the fact that you posed your question after referencing the Times article. I stand corrected if this is not the case.

And Hag Sameach in any case :)
