It could be argued that an interest in Nazi memorabilia by someone who works for a human rights organization is not nostalgic for Nazism but likes to be constantly reminded of the worst possible unchecked atrocities against humanity. He did say that the SS leather jacket made his blood go cold.

One individual's ambiguous actions don't endict an entire organization. And human rights (and civil liberties) organizations are bound to piss everyone off at one time or another.
