I am still trying to find out if there is a specific variety more to my taste than the others. Perhaps my palate is not so fine tuned. Also, during the day, I often fell like having different kinds.

For example, I have recently realized that I prefer pu-erh at night, before going to bed. Good on its own and also pairs well with red wine (or so it seems).

I often find myself drinking black in the morning, green or oolong during the day. But it is likely just a habit. Have not put much thought into it.

I use Upton Tea and don't think it's a crowd behavior because we discovered them on our own pretty soon after their start (before they went online). I don't claim they are the best or even better than somebody else, we are just happy with their service, and tea selection and quality, so never saw any reason to switch.

BTW I bought a tea stick for doing the tea at work and somehow not so impressed with it as you were. I still use the regular tea ball.

Думаю, что это, скорее, отражает структуру связей в заграничном русском сообществе. Например, в магазинах, где я обычно бываю, чай, который можно пить, не продают, а, с другой стороны, не являюсь настолько большим ценителем, чтобы целенаправленно заниматься сетевыми поисками (как, например, с табаком). Как обычно, в таких случаях большую роль играют случайные рекомендации. Если бы я был вхож в какие-то локальные русские круги, т.е. было бы живое общение, то случайные рекомендации в основном касались бы brick'n'stones, а в сети люди оперируют другими представлениями. Отсюда рукой подать до естественной кластеризации. Тем более, что магазин вполне хорош, вот как раз, как выше сказали.

Тем не менее, меня каждый раз удивляет, когда узнаю, что кто-то в UptonTea покупает.

Ну я вот купил пробу в Upton'е по совету, а также в Adagio, ну и в Teavana. Пока Upton нравится. Но ведь их целая куча! Пока всех перепробуешь, они из дела уйдут, а тех, кто особо понравился, купят те, кто не особо понравился.

Как некоторые люди говорят (я эту точку зрения не разделяю) в таких поисках как раз и кроется значительная доля очарования.

Меня выбор и в одном UptonTea пугает, поэтому всегда стараюсь там быстро купить. Каждый раз маленькая радость, когда у них еще есть определенная серия, т.е. можно просто номер встучать в поиск, пять минут и свободен. Что уж тут говорить про другие магазины.

Будем надеяться, что Upton еще долго продержится.
