Я такие тексты дочитываю до конца, когда они короткие. Аргументация, на мой взгляд, слабая, слабее обычного (для Commentary). Процитированное вообще не аргумент, а попытка повлиять на чувства человека заранее идеологически подготовленного, т.е. это обращение к чувствам, а не к разуму, и к "своей" аудитории, а не к общей. Такое бывает и в The Commentary, ничего не поделаешь: не знаю публикации, полностью от такого свободной.
