Good news is, chances of impact are one in 909,000 (how did they calculate them?)

You think those news are good? Fucking thing is 1200 meters in diameter and will impact (if it will) at 33 kilometers per second. On impact it will release about 350000 mega tonn of TNT equivalent. That's about 35 times the total yield of the all nuclear arsenal on the planet. Or about 600 gramm of TNT per square meter of the Earth's surface. If it hits an ocean - that's it.

And the chances of winning this lottery are few orders of magnitude better then in Lotto. So, where is the good news?

The good news is, someone eventually wins the Lotto, but not this lottery.

More good news is, since they track it, if it's considered a real threat, there will be sufficient time to correct its trajectory.
