No, she could not, as she is almost completely unknown. Why should she be any more interesting than a guy who could move a Boeing with his teeth? His "skill" is at least presentable on TV, as the demonstration of it only requires a few minutes as opposed to 8 days.

"I can do something that no one else in the world can! Would you endorse me?
"Show me!
"Uh... It takes 8 days and I can only do it once a year (or whatever time it takes to recover physically).
"Oh... Pat yourself on the head, then.

Oh no, it does not take a year.

I wonder how marathon runners get endorsements.

Marathon runners perform in events with hundreds or thousands of participants (about 20,000 for the Boston marathon) that are widely publicised and televised. In particular, because they are only 2-3 hours long.

Do you know if the Guinness book record holder in fingernail length got any endorsements?

Marathon runners run because they like it, and there is an industry which, granted, is a niche industry, but still, with many thousands of enthusiasts, is not negligible. People who run or jog regularly are its good customers. Marathon is to them like triple (and other multiple) ironman is to marathon, cream of the crop.

Every week there is a long-distance (marathon, half-marathon, 50K etc) run, usually several, somewhere in the US. Plus some people run long distance just for fun. Nobody televises them: they do not care about publicity. I am sure this woman does not either, and this is why she remains relatively unknown. People who created Boston marathon cared about publicity, because they wanted to promote awareness. You can run on the cheap around your neighborhood.

Even if she did care about publicity, she would not get much of it (if any) for her "skill" is hardly media-friendly. Dixi.

How many people do you think are following yacht competitions that last days and weeks?

I think I won this argument. :-)
