I think many Americans elected BO because he is black. In the past people could have voted for a black man despite his color, and it is progress (and before that would not or could not vote for blacks etc). But when will people ignore the color altogether? That will be something.

What was the meaning of miles long lines in inner city precincts? You don't understand- it's for people like me skin color doesn't matter. I would 've voted for BO if he expressed my conservative views. I resent the fact that he was elected because of his color and as Cema said, not despite.

Sounds sarcastic and weighty ... Maggie Gyllenhaal said that she wouldn't sleep with people who voted for McCain and I wouldn't sleep with people of Russian background who voted for Obama.
