It is beautifully written. But wrong. "Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi"? Ha. At best they'll have grown up before the camps, and will regard them as an unfortunate fact of life. At worst they will join hitlerjugend before they are capable of thinking and be taught to see the camps as a necessity, and to force themselves to guard them as a service to their homeland.

Adults will go passive Nazi. That's when they are really too nice and too gentlemanly to hurt a man's feelings by mentioning publicly that his job as a camp director is somewhat vulgar.

I agree: Nazism is unlikely.

Fascism, on the other hand, takes on many forms. But it is such a vague notion that almost anything done collectively can be called that.
